Minky Gurney began her creative career in graphic design and visual communication, developing a strong eye for typography, layout, and storytelling. Her work soon expanded into photography, publication design, and media production, leading to collaborations with international clients and editorial publications. She has documented major cultural events including London Fashion Week, Budapest Fashion Week, and Cannes Film Festival, experiences that helped shape her distinctive visual style.
: : A Move into Healthcare
Photography eventually led Minky into healthcare, where she discovered the important role clinical imaging plays in patient care. Working as a Clinical Photographer within the NHS, she has supported specialties including oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, teledermatology, mole mapping, chest wall deformities, and cleft palate care.
Her work has included documenting wound care alongside Tissue Viability teams, as well as producing child protection photography used to support safeguarding investigations and court proceedings. These situations require sensitivity, accuracy, and professionalism, reinforcing the trust and responsibility at the heart of her role.
Combining compassion with precision, this work transformed photography from a creative practice into deeply meaningful work she is passionate about every day.
: : Design in Service of MedicineAlongside clinical photography, Minky continues to use her design background to make healthcare communication more accessible. She creates clear, engaging visuals for patient education, internal communications, and public-facing materials, blending creativity with practical care.
: : Looking Ahead
Minky is now expanding into the private sector, providing medical photography services for both a private clinic and a law firm, while continuing to develop her expertise in teledermatology.
Wherever her work leads, she remains passionate about combining creativity, compassion, and real-world impact.
